This is such a delicious pie using the awesome ready made dough “Puff Pastry”. You can get creative with the stuffing but this combination hits the spot for me 🙂
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 1 tbsp ketcup
- 1 cup thinly sliced beef sausage
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup black olives pitted and diced
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
- 1/2 tsp Zaatar or oregano
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 beaten egg

Sautee the bell peppers with 1 tbsp olive oil, zaatar and crushed red pepper – set aside when soften
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F before you start working on the pie.
Unroll the puff pastry into the big rectangle on a silicon mat or non stick baking tray
Cover the middle rectangular section with ketchup
Place the sliced sausages in the middle
Place the sauteed bell peppers on the top of the sausage
Place the olives on the pile
Place the mozzarella on the rest of the pile
With a sharp knife, make even slices on each side of the rectangle
Start braiding by pulling down one slice from left then right and so on
Cover the top with the beaten egg and paprika
Bake until bubbly and browned for about 20 minutes.
