When I have a busy long day, sometimes that happens by spending the full morning watching previously recorded chopped and cutthroat kitchen, it is hard to put a nice dish together fast enough. That was until I started to make the steak poivre!!! It looks too fancy to be done in such a short time. And the taste, you cannot go wrong with that 😉 I would much quickly to the store and get some cream and medium thick steak (any cut but usually I get the boneless New York steak cut).
Rating: Super easy
Ingredients
- 4 pieces of steak (not the very thick cut so it can get done quickly). I also prefer the new york thin cut.
- Salt to taste
- Black Pepper (a lot) or pepper corns
- Some lime zest or 1 lime juice
- Dried onion
- 4 olive oil tablespoons
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Mix all spices and 2 tablespoons of olive oil on the steak including the lemon zest or lime juice. (Do not add the soy sauce yet, it is for the sauce).
Get a hot pan, put 2 tablespoons of olive oil + 1 tablespoon butter.
Place the steaks in the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side.
Add the 1/2 cup of heavy cream with little bit of the soy sauce.
Put in the over for another 7-10 minutes.
